We stayed at Phi Phi Island Village Beech Resort and Spa, as the second part of our two week holiday and we stayed for 7 nights. Im so glad that we did this place as our 2nd week as when we were returning to phuket on our way home, we were just wanting the ferry to turn around and take us back to this idylic resort. I always wanted to go to a place where you can feel escape from it all, with an amazing beach, cystal sea, and thats what you get.
We stayed in a superior bungalow and fell really quite lucky bout a 15 second walk from the beach, the bungalow was good sized, and all the amenities that you needed. When we go back, definetly going to go for the beach front bungalows.
This place is amazing, yes the place charges a little more than thailand, but your on holiday, and i still didnt feel that it wasnt bad value for money.. for example a buffet on the beach, as much food you can eat, an idilyc setting 750 baht each, what 15 pounds each, ok friday night was1500 baht each, but on the other hand, food was fantastic and the selection of food was ace. Your on holiday enjoy yourself we certainly did.
More about the resort, 'Long Tail Boats' hire one of these!!! We did on two occassions, and there alot cheaper from Phi Phi Island resort than anywhere else on the island, 1950 baht for 6 hours, for a driver and the boat to yourself!! It was ace. Yes the boat drivers English was not too good, but it was enough to get by, and they know the best spots and times to take you places.
We toured all the way round phi phi don (the place our resort was on), went snorkelling a number of times visited bamboo ilsand and mosquito island (just gets nicknamed that we didnt see any mosquitos) went snorkelling more, walked up to the view point of tonsai bay, and still had enough time to go snorkelling some more before we made our way back on the boat.
Second time we took the boat to Phi Phi Ley, place were The Beach was filmed, we set off initially hoping to get to the famous Maya Bay dead early as we wanted to see it with no one else on it (It doesnt happen very often!!) Our boat driver told us best time see it 1pm, when it was quietist or 6 pm, guess this is the time when the tours go for lunch as it does go quieter considerably!
The resort was so helpfull planning our trips we told them what we wanted and they provided it. Snorkel and Fins, they provided them at a very reasonable price, and i was very impressed with the fact that they offer a full diving package at 2600 baht, (PADI) at which works out less than 50 pounds gbp, which is a three day course. I didnt do it this time, but i think ill be doing it next time. The snorkelling we did was amazing the views of under the sea was amazing, so many fish, different colours, it is mind blowing.
To sum up about this resort it was ace, relaxing on the beach with a book a cold drink, and the views outward onto a lovely beach, and crystal seas, We sailed all around the island and none of the resorts we saw, matched up to what we had here. Would i come back, ill guarantee i will. (Just upgrade to a beech view, and the view was amazing)
My tip, this place is about relaxing, exploring by long tail boat, and relaxing, thats what we wanted, and we got it
Oh yeah if you go on you tube and type in phi phi island village, there is a 9 minute video clip of a guy showing you the island, this shows you how the island is, and its ace!!
